Resident Evil enters the real world with a brand-new collector's box of energy drinks and merchandise based on iconic in-game items from the franchise.
According to GameFlavor, the gaming consumable manufacturer partnered with Capcom for an officially licensed box of goods inspired by various healing and support items from the long-running survival horror series. The Resident Evil First Aid Drink Collector's Box contains 10 energy drinks designed to look like the first-aid spray item from the series, complete with a replica spray top along with several real-life herbs inside replica ink ribbon containers and a mocktail recipe book.
Why is it so Difficult to Make a Resident Evil Movie?
Resident Evil, one of gaming's foremost horror series, just can't seem to stick the landing with its many film adaptations — but why?According to GameFlavor CEO Michael Codd, the company aimed to create an authentic experience with the product, focusing on capturing the flavors and look that players might imagine these items to have in the Resident Evil universe. For instance, the first aid spray beverages are cucumber, lime and mint flavored, and the herbs are all usable, real-life ingredients. The red herb is hibiscus, green is matcha, yellow is turmeric and blue is aronia.
Within the Resident Evil games, players would use these items to replenish their character's health at varying levels depending on the item or the mixture of herbs, which are color-coded according to potency and purpose. A green herb heals the player slightly while the red herbs are useless on their own. However, a mixture of red and green provides full health or poison and venom recovery when mixed in with the blue. Yellow, which increases the player's maximum health if combined with green and red, only appears in some of the later games, such as Resident Evil 4.
Capcom Confirms Plans to Develop More Resident Evil Remakes
Capcom announces its plans to continue the trend of adapting and improving older Resident Evil games for modern players.Meanwhile, limited ink ribbons are required for players to save their progress and while they are often found in abundance, it is easy to run out during harder levels. Contained inside a replica storage box straight from the game's universe, GameFlavor's Collector's Box provides a real-world survival kit for die-hard Resident Evil fans looking to gear up for long-term gaming sessions or simply collect a unique consumable product based on the iconic franchise.
Fans looking to buy the box should act fast as the company only produced 4,750 boxes, limiting availability to just a small fraction of the best-selling series' fanbase. The box is available to order now on GameFlavor's official website, where it sells for just over $188.66 USD.
