IN REACHING out to the less fortunate, Fraser & Neave Holdings Bhd (F&N) continued its commitment of spreading joy during Chinese New Year by visiting 10 homes across Malaysia.
The company’s efforts brought smiles to 509 people comprising orphans, disabled children and senior citizens.
The homes visited were The Salvation Army Penang Children’s Care, Anning Children’s Home, Pertubuhan Kebajikan Orang Tua Cacat Dan Kurang Upaya Taman Connaught, Persatuan Kebajikan Vinashini, Persatuan Kebajikan Prihatin Kuan Yin Johor Bahru, Pusat Jagaan Kanak-Kanak Terencat Akal, Joy Garden Karak – House of Joy, Down Syndrome Centre Lions Club Kota Bahru House, Community Social Support Centre and Holy Family Residence for Senior Citizens.
During these visits, the company contributed close to RM85,000 in the form of F&N food and beverages, household basics, personal care products and ang pow.
At some homes, lunch was provided while the company’s employees spent time with residents.
F&N communications, corporate affairs and sustainability director Karen Tan said community development played a vital role in the company’s operations.
“In every market in which we operate, we engage in both long and short-term programmes anchored on four themes – strengthening vulnerable groups, promoting environmental consciousness, spreading festive cheer, and promoting sports and active lifestyles aimed at fostering greater social equity,” said Tan.
“Festive seasons are a great opportunity for us to connect with the local community.
“By spreading cheer, we nurture a sense of unity,” said Tan.
F&N corporate and regulatory affairs senior executive Yogesvary Gopalan finds these acts to be a powerful reminder that true joy comes from lifting others up.
“With each visit, we share smiles and receive priceless moments of happiness and gratitude in return,” she said.
F&N regional marketing service manager Chen Teck Boon recalled how heartwarming it was to be able to spend time with the less fortunate this festive season in line with F&N’s values.
“Together as a team, we reach out across communities and prove that small acts of kindness resonate deeply,” he added.
