The free-to-enter Singapore Food & Beverage Fair 2023 returns with over 200 exciting stalls featuring ... - Confirm Good

Can’t get enough of food fairs, festivals, bazaars, and shows? Here’s one that has returned, bigger, and better — it is none other than the Singapore Food & Beverage Fair 2023, which is currently running from now till 19 March.

You can look forward to over 200 exhibitors and food stalls offering local, Asian, and international eats under one roof at the Singapore EXPO — yes, you’ll get to eat your way through this massive food fair in air-conditioned comfort!

Whether you’re craving popular cuisine from Taiwan, Thailand, and Japan, or seeking something new and novel, you’re bound to find it here. Aside from hot food, desserts, and beverages that can be enjoyed without the hall itself, the fair will also play host to vendors selling frozen food, wellness products, and even household appliances.

You’re in for both a feast and a retail therapy treat, given that there are over 1000 F&B products to browse.

But that’s not all — the majority of vendors are also offering exclusive promotions and deals that are too good to miss. There is also a “Spend & Win” draw with over S$68,888 worth of prizes to be won (with minimum spending of S$100) — — don’t say we didn’t tell ya.

Here are some of the vendors you need to keep a lookout for:

First things first, some of our favourite local eateries have set up stalls here, namely braised pork belly rice (lu rou fan) from 8 Degrees Taiwanese Bistro, colourful ang ku kueh from Poh Cheu, and a unique Mentaiko Carrot Cake (S$8) from Original Changi Ten Mile.

Those with a travel itch they’ve yet to scratch can check out the street eats typically found at night markets in Taiwan, like oyster mee sua, fried oyster cakes, and honey-fried chicken.

Alternatively, make a pitstop in the Land of Smiles (especially if you’ve yet to visit Chatuchak Singapore) by hitting up some of the many authentic Thai stalls peddling everything from moo ping to khao soi (Thai curry) and tom yum mama.

Can never get enough of tasty and authentic Korean street food? Krate (Cuisine & Tales) is your go-to for Tteokbokki (S$8), Korean Fried Chicken (S$8) in flavours like Soy Garlic and Sweet & Spicy, and K-Signature Loaded Fries (S$8) topped with minced chicken bulgogi and mentaiko mayo.

The first 100 customers daily can enjoy S$2 off with a minimum spend of S$16, so go K-crazy!

If you’re all about the rich flavours of Malay cuisine, Lemaq offers a modern twist on the Kueh Jongkong, a layered dessert popular with the Malay and Peranakan communities, alongside classics like Roti Kirai (lace pancakes) and Chicken Potato Rissoles.

Those who get there early can purchase a bundle of all three goodies for just S$6 (U.P. S$10) — only limited sets are available daily!

Another flavour-packed dish worth trying is the pork and chicken satay from Leo’s Satay. Go for the Singapore Traditional Satay Set (S$7 for 10 sticks) or the handy Satay in a Cup (S$4 for five sticks), both of which come with ketupat, cucumber, onion, and a peanut-pineapple satay sauce.

Spice or mala lovers must try the special edition Xiang La Spicy Chicken Satay (from S$1 per stick), which boasts fiery, tender, and mildly tongue-numbing meat!

You may be familiar with the chunky cookies, molten lava brownies, and gelato from popular Whiskdom, but do you know that they also sell loaded bagels? Chow down on the fair-exclusive Classic Ribeye Beef Bagel (U.P. S$10.90), featuring teppanyaki-sliced beef and lots of nacho cheese, for S$8.90.

One of the vendors I was most looking forward to, Ye Olde Cow, grills up juicy dry-aged beef burgers, best paired with cheesy loaded fries, beer, and kombucha. Keep it simple with the OG Burger (S$11 for single, S$18 for double), comprising a juicy dry-aged patty with American cheese, caramelised onions, and house mayo, or take it up a notch by adding on a side of Ye Olde Cheese Fries (S$8).

Wash everything down with a refreshing Mint Lime Nojito Kombucha (S$7) from ForrestBrew, or a local craft beer from Spaceman.

Moving on to desserts — proper, Hou Hou De sells crusty and super buttery soufflé thick toast you’ll probably find yourself having seconds of. Choose from the Classic Original Thick Toast (S$5), Coco Toast (S$5.50), or Cheese Toast (S$5.50), and transport yourself to the streets of Taiwan!

Head down to Celine’s Gelato for authentic Italian gelato served from a charming gelato cart in flavours like Tiramisu, Raspberry, and Pistachio. We ordered the latter (obviously!) and thoroughly enjoyed how nutty, smooth, and creamy it was!

It’s not just donuts that take centre stage at Dochi Dochi (WTV Food) — it’s fresh handmade mochi donuts! Take your pick from the selection of adorable mini donuts (dubbed “dochis“) that come in sweet (S$7 for 6pcs) and savoury (from S$8 for 6pcs) flavours like Kaya Lah, Biscoff Crunch, and Parmesan Garlic Butter (my personal favourite!).

Do note that the six mix-and-match dochis are for photo purposes only.

Don’t forget to get your hands on the fair-exclusive Dochi Nana (S$5), their take on a chewy goreng pisang, that’s slathered in a sauce and a topping of your choice — we opted for Nutella and Oreo Crumbles.

But what if you’re feeling health-conscious and/or curious to explore more plant-based products? Up your snacking game with tasty freeze-dried snacks from Gracious Goodness, the meatless “Zhng It” dips and sauces in flavours like Mala Mayo and Korean Honey Butter from Green Butchery, as well as the Water Lily Pops from Zenko Superfoods — you don’t have to be a vegetarian or vegan to appreciate them!

If all that shopping, sampling, and feasting is starting to make you thirsty, head down to Koko & Karma for fruity coconut water, before hitting up Beanie’s Flavour Instant Coffee and Kuching-based Greenleaf Food & Beverages for a fun caffeine-powered pick-me-up! Intervino Singapore is the best spot to indulge in a little tipple (or two) — they’re even offering daily 1-for-1 flash deals on selected Italian red wines!

All in all, there is plenty to eat, try, and buy at the Food & Beverage Fair 2023, which will be running from today till 19 March 2023. Admission is free, so if you’ve yet to make weekend plans, you know where to go!
