ON BOARD SHIP XIANGYANGHONG 09 -- China's manned submersible Jiaolong descended to 6,699 meters in the Mariana Trench on Tuesday, recording images of two swimming snailfishes.


Tuesday's mission was Jiaolong's fourth dive in the trench this year.

BEIJING -- Tourism was bouyant for the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, with excursions to suburban areas being the most popular choice for Chinese travelers, said the China National Tourism Administration (CNTA).
